MICKIE JAMES: TELL ME THE VALUE
Mickie James has reportedly signed with TNA.
Tell me the value.
TNA should cut payroll, not add.
James is a solid female worker. Never drew a dime, but no woman has, not since Mildred Burke. Love Mickie’s look. Love her bubble ass. She’s Teagan Presley in tights. I’ve liked Mickie since she was Alexis Laree on the indie circuit.
But she won’t help TNA.
Unless…
This is a long shot, but no longer than RVD at the top of the card: Position the Knockouts as equal to the men. Emphasize the Knockouts title. Lure divas from WWE. You can’t be the top men’s promotion. Be the top women’s promotion. Be supersexy. Go places PG-rated WWE won’t.
Topless PPVs? Sure, why not?
Like I said, a long shot. This may be THE DUMBEST THING I’ve written on Wrestlezone.com. But it’s no dumber than almost everything currently airing on TNA. TNA already has a decent women’s crew. Build on that.
Just bring back Awesome Kong. Men’s pro wrestling can’t create a monster heel, not anymore. Not enough size disparity. But Kong is a monster at the women’s level.
Don’t ignore the point about TNA’s payroll, by the way. How can TNA justify a huge roster given THOSE television ratings, THOSE pay-per-view buyrates and the MINIMAL revenues that accompany everything?
I’d love to be at a TNA production meeting. I bet it’s just like WCW was. The more the ratings said WCW sucked, the more determined Vince Russo was to prove the ratings wrong.
But the ratings are never wrong.
