Sami Zayn has had a mixed run on the main roster up until 2018. He was seemingly on the verge of a call-up in 2015 when he answered John Cena‘s United States open challenge. However, prior to the match (just as he was entering the ring), he threw his arms up in the air like he usually does and he felt a pop.
He knew there was a potential dislocation, but finished the match anyway. He was out of action until the end of that year, finished his run with NXT and joined the main roster. He’s yet to see any championship success, but he’s still been featured in good matches and good feuds. Another injury in 2018 put a halt to any momentum he had, but prior to that, he wasn’t doing creatively well on RAW either.
With that said, Zayn is still young with a lot of upside to him. He’s one of the best all-rounders in the company and has the potential to be a proper main eventer. Here’s how it can happen.
