Steve Maclin knows good Italian cooking.
A Twitter/X account posted a photo of Deonna Purrazzo, who was wearing a shirt that said, ‘You Can’t Hurt My Feelings, My Mom’s Italian.’ Purrazzo replied, saying it was true. Another fan tried their “best” to test the shirt’s slogan and responded to her, writing that her “lasagna tastes terrible.” Purrazzo said, “Steve would beg to differ.”
So, we asked Steve.
“10 out of 10. My wife, when she cooks — and she full-on cooks, it’s the best,” Maclin told WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard. “Because it’s just good homemade Italian food, and [made] with her mother’s recipe and her grandmother’s recipe. And she made ‘manigot’ over Easter, which is like, pretty much a really thin, Crepe-style noodle.
“But she made homemade manigot even on Easter. I just gain 10 pounds every time she cooks like a full-on Italian dinner, which I love. Because it’s one of my favorite food groups,” Maclin said. “It is good to be cultured in Italian food. Who doesn’t love pasta?”

It’s just not the same in Florida!
Maclin also knows that it’s ‘mutz’ and not mozzarella, as he grew up in northern New Jersey. He lives in Orlando now, and still misses having access to good bread and pizza in Florida.
“Nothing’s the same [down here]. My favorite pizza place, I’m actually going to probably go it. I have a GCW show I’m part of on August 2nd. New Park Tavern, it’s in Rutherford, New Jersey, my hometown,” he added. “It’s my favorite pizza; it’s ‘bar pie,’ but it’s my favorite ‘bar pie’ in the entire world. It’s good, thin. [The] crust is just burnt and crispy enough where it’s not too overdone. And then, you get that order of spicy mussels… I’m already looking forward to that meal.”
