Jimmy and Jey Uso know exactly what they’re talking about — it’s a twin thing.
The Usos are one of the most decorated tag teams of all time. They’ve won tag team gold in WWE eight times. Recent years have seen them engaged in some of the biggest battles in the promotion, both with and against each other.
The brothers also share an unspoken bond since they are twins. Other twins know exactly what that entails, and so do the parents of twins. Jimmy and Jey Uso spoke with WrestleZone after Jey’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship win at WrestleMania 41 about the special bond they share, and they gave some fantastic tips for navigating life with twins.
Jimmy Uso: You watch them [fight] and then you watch them [get along] like nothing ever happened. That’s that twin thing. It really is.
Jey Uso: And even though you’re the Dad, it don’t matter how close you think you are.
Jimmy: The twin knows the twin more than [you think you know them], you feel me?
Jey: “Let them fight. Don’t get in between them. Don’t let the wife get in between them. Are they girls or boys? [It’s girls] Oh shit, well… alright [Jimmy] you go on ahead…
Jimmy: Bless you…
Not so fast!
Jimmy and Jey Uso paused an attempt to ask a follow-up question. Then, Jimmy said that the best thing the parent of a twin can do is just sit back and watch… and maybe officiate the fight.
Jey Uso: Wait, we got to finish this! See, he’s trying to skip over it. Like, it’s all bad, every fight is bad. It could literally go from 0 to 100 like so fast, and you don’t even know why.
Jimmy Uso: Sometimes we know why, and we couldn’t even explain why we did what we did. But we would know why we did what we did.
Jey: It’s a twin thing.
Jimmy: But it brings us closer.
Jey: All I’m going to say is, the good thing is they’re girls, so you let the wife deal with it. If it was twin boys…
Jimmy: Wait, wait, wait! We’re not going to [go at it like that] You got a ref’s shirt? Right? That’s what you need. [laughs] The good thing is, let ‘em hash it. That’s the best thing you can do. Don’t hold them back, let ‘em go at it! [imitates a snooty couple and puts his arm around Jey] ‘Hold on, wife! Grab the popcorn.’ Grab your favorite snack and let’s let ‘em go. There it is.
