Brooke Havok Reveals New Collaboration With Downstait

Brooke Havok is taking a page out of her trainer’s playbook.

The rock band Downstait has created some of pro wrestling’s most popular theme songs, one of which belongs to former Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Soon, Brooke Havok, who trained under Rhodes at the Nightmare Factory, can say the same.

During a recent interview with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, Havok revealed her collaboration with Downstait, which will bring about a new tune for her wrestling entrance.

“Downstait is working on a custom theme for me,” she said. “I’ve heard some of it and I’m so excited. We talked for a while and I gave them so many ideas that I’ve had and wanted. They are absolutely killing it. I could not be more happy with what’s coming. I’m so excited for once it’s released and I get to share it with everyone. They’re really the coolest dudes in the world. I have loved their music.

“Obviously, they made Cody’s theme and I would randomly tag them,” Havok continued. “When I would do workouts and stuff, I’m like ‘Oh listening to Downstait,’ so I think they started seeing that. They would retweet or whatever, but I still didn’t think they really knew me. Then they were at the Hammerstein [Ballroom for GCW] because they were doing Matt Cardona’s live entrance and I got to meet them. They were like ‘Brooke!’ and I was like ‘Oh shoot, y’all know who I am?'”

Following their initial meeting with Downstait at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom, Havok and the Downstait members kept in contact, with the band offering to create a custom theme song for the young wrestling star. Havok, of course, emphatically agreed.

“We started working from there,” she said. “They were so quick with it and super excited about it. I was insanely excited, so it’s going to be so much fun once everyone gets to hear the custom theme.”

When asked about the vibes of her yet-to-be released entrance song, Havok noted that its sounds are similar to the 2008 version of Avenged Sevenfold, a popular heavy metal band. As for its official release, Havok is hopeful for it to debut sometime this month.
