Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up: WWE Elimination Chamber Field Is Set, Queen Aminata Is Elite, Rebecca Scott Interview

The Women’s Elimination Chamber field is officially set. Queen Aminata is All Elite. Rebecca Scott speaks with WrestleZone and more! Let’s break it down in this week’s edition of Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up!

Next Stop: Elimination Chamber

The next stop on the Road to WrestleMania is the Elimination Chamber event. The 2024 event will emanate from Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia. This premium live event will mark WWE‘s first trip to Australia since October 2018. Given the international implications, the stakes surrounding this event have been raised quite high.

Of the four announced matches, three of them will help set the stage for WrestleMania 40. One bout will see “The Eradicator” Rhea Ripley put her title on the line against Nia Jax. The winner of this match will defend the title against the winner of the Women’s Elimination Chamber at WrestleMania 40.

After an intense “Last Chance” battle royal last night, we now know the full field of entrants competing in the Women’s Elimination Chamber.

Raquel Rodriguez Claims The Final Spot

Heading into WWE RAW this week, five of the six Elimination Chamber participants were confirmed. Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Tiffany Stratton, and Naomi all qualified for the match. As such, WWE coordinated a “Last Chance” battle royal in which the winner earned the right to claim the final spot.

This particular contest featured 19 representatives from both RAW and SmackDown brands. It also laid the path for the return of Raquel Rodriguez, who had previously been sidelined from action for two months.

Despite her absence, Rodriguez entered the match with major fuel. Raquel wasted little time to eliminate the likes of Valhalla, Xia Li, and Isla Dawn. As the match progressed, Rodriguez’s elimination count grew even higher with the additions of Alba Fyre, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark. After Rodriguez eliminated Stark, Chelsea Green made a surprise reemergence, attempting to attack her from behind.

Unfortunately for Green, Rodriguez quickly shifted momentum back into her favor, throwing her over-the-top rope for the win.

With her victory, Rodriguez will now join Lynch, Belair, Morgan, Stratton, and Naomi inside the Women’s Elimination Chamber this Saturday. The winner, of course, will then guarantee themselves a shot at the WWE Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 40.

Queen Aminata Is All Elite

Three years after making her AEW debut, Queen Aminata is now officially All Elite.

News of Aminata’s signing emerged last Friday by way of AEW President Tony Khan, who congratulated Aminata on earning her first televised victory in AEW. The former GCW Women’s Champion had previously scored a victory on AEW Dark in September 2022 when she teamed with Skye Blue. On this occasion, however, Aminata faced “The Queenslayer” Anna Jay in singles competition on AEW Rampage.

Jay put forth a valiant effort in this 8-minute contest. But in the end, it wasn’t enough to defeat the Queen. The closing moment saw Aminata lay out Jay with a headbutt, which then allowed her to secure a three-count pinfall for the win.

In the weeks leading up to her signing, Aminata squared off with the likes of Serena Deeb, Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, Mariah May, and AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm. Aminata’s recent entanglement with May marked May’s official in-ring debut for AEW, having inked a contract with the company in November 2023.
