Shayna Baszler: There’s No Bigger Badass Warhammer 40,000 Fan Than Me, Put Me On The Show

Shayna Baszler is campaigning for a spot on the upcoming Warhammer 40,000 series.

WrestleZone recently spoke with Shayna Baszler, who is a huge fan of the Warhammer 40,000 miniature game. Amazon Studios and Henry Cavill are working on a television adaptation of the game, and Baszler wants it known that she’d be a great addition to the cast.

“Henry, there’s no other female out there and you’re going to need — look, I’m not going to get into the female space rate argument because I actually am whatever about that,” she stated. “But you need female characters in the show and there’s no bigger badass Warhammer 40K fan than me. So, let’s do this. And I know the IP is important to you. I will stick true to the lore. I’m a big fan of sticking to the source material. Let’s do this.”

Baszler, who was wearing a Superman shirt during the interview, said she’s looking forward to seeing how the new DCU under James Gunn plays out.

“I mean, we’ll see, right? I’m one of those people I’m not going to knee jerk into — some people will watch a thing and hate it and think everything’s ruined,” she noted. “I like to let stuff play out. So, we’ll see.”

Baszler also spoke about her love of the Green Arrow comics and said she hopes a new adaptation will be just as gritty and gory as the books she’s a fan of.

“Let’s see some gross [stuff]. I said I was a fan of Green Arrow because the comics were more gory than anything else that I had available to me at the time,” Baszler explained. “So, let’s see some cool, let’s get creative.”

James Gunn announced his “roadmap” for the first chapter of his DCU projects in January. Gunn did not announce a Green Arrow-centered series but it’s possible the character could still make an appearance in another show or film. One of the confirmed projects is Batman: The Brave and the Bold; an animated series of the same name aired from 2008-2011 and that also featured the Green Arrow character.
