The following segments and matches took place on the August 2nd episode of TNA Xplosion.
The show opened with a match “From The Vault”. They replayed the X-Division Championship match between Kurt Angle and Jay Lethal from TNA No Surrender 2007.
It was a fairly standard match, outside of the ending. Angle dominated the bulk of the match, using his power and experience to stay on top. However, Black Machismo shocked the world by rolling up the former WWE Champion, winning the X-Division Championship.
This was followed by Around The Ring with Gia Miller. She was joined by Trent Seven on TNA Xplosion, and she asked him to explain the recent Euro 2024 football tournament, where Seven’s home country of England lost in the final to Spain.
Gia Miller said that she loved the singing and chanting in British football. They agreed that the chants are better than the American’s, and talked about how they’ve bled into professional wrestling. Trent Seven also expressed his desire to face John Cena before his retirement.
‘In Case You Missed It’
This was followed by “In Case You Missed It” segment, as TNA Xplosion replayed the match between Nic Nemeth and Mustafa Ali on TNA Impact.
This match was for the TNA World Champion, and was Nemeth’s first defense of the belt. The former Dolph Ziggler walked out as the winner of the match, in what looks to be Ali’s final match in TNA.
This was followed by the main event of TNA Xplosion. Rich Swann wrestled Reverso in what was a fantastic match. AJ Francis joined the commentary desk to watch his FIR$T CLA$$ teammate face the masked Luchador.
The former TNA World Champion dominated his opponent, but Reverso had a few flurries of offense. However, he was pinned after a First Class Splash by Rich Swann.
