Sammy Guevara is back.
On the February 16 episode of AEW Rampage, Jeff Hardy wrestled former TNT Champion Sammy Guevara. During the match, Hardy suffered an injury and as a result, Sammy Guevara was later suspended because concussion protocol was not followed. Several months later, Guevera made his return on ROH TV.
On the August 1 episode, The Dark Order attacked Dustin Rhodes after Rhodes and The Von Erichs beat the trio. Sammy Guevara ran in for the save and helped Rhodes.
Kevin Nash was puzzled about Sammy Guevara being suspended
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer previously reported an update about Sammy Guevara’s suspension. WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash then shared his thoughts about the suspension during his Kliq This podcast.
Nash mentioned that he was not sure why Guevara would be suspended if it was a mere accident.
“I don’t get it. If it was with malice, then yeah, then he should be suspended. But a botched move’s a botched move.”
Upon learning that Guevara hit his finisher from the top of the ladder despite being instructed not to, Nash claimed that the suspension does make sense.
“That makes sense,” Kevin Nash said. “I’m sitting over here puzzled. Now it’s just like, okay. Hell yeah, suspend him.”
At the same time, this incident had only raised more questions for Kevin Nash regarding the concussion protocol followed by AEW.
“I just look at it and I say, man, it’s really hard for me to adhere to the concussion protocol when Darby f*cking catapults himself from Mount Olympus through glass onto a concrete floor, and that’s okay,” Kevin Nash said. “I don’t get it.”
