  • Bandido, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong vs. Konosuke Takeshita and the Young Bucks

AEW Dynamite Results:

This week’s episode of Dynamite kicks off with Hangman Page making his way to the ring. Page says he’s not going to waste anyone’s time because he’s already said plenty about how much this upcoming match and title at All In mean to him. Page says he made a promise that he would win the AEW World Championship at All In, and that is a vow he will keep with his life.

Hangman says you can tie him up and bloody him, but it won’t be enough. Page says they will have to kill him before he lets this chance pass him by. Page says he knows The Elite and the Death Riders will try to interfere, and he says to bring it on, demanding a Texas Death Match against Jon Moxley at All In.

Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir make their way through the crowd. Jon Moxley says no. Mox says Hangman might think he wants that, but he doesn’t want it. Moxley says Page isn’t going to win at All In because he doesn’t want to win. The crowd tells Moxley to shut the f*ck up.

Jon Moxley doesn’t want a Texas Death Match against Hangman at All In

Moxley says he’s much more than the AEW World Champion, and he’ll show that to the entire world later this month at All In. Mox says Hangman doesn’t have it inside of him to take the title away from him. Page slaps Moxley, and Mox takes him down to the mat, but Page gets on top and tries to stab him with a fork before Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir get involved.

Shafir slaps Page several times, and as Page is about to respond, Yuta grabs his legs, and Claudio Castagnoli returns to beat down Page. Mox and Shafir leave, letting Claudio and Yuta do his dirty work. Castagnoli and Yuta leave, and Hangman gets up, asking if that’s the best they got.

Castagnoli tries to return to the ring, but he’s blocked by Samoa Joe. Yuta tries to join Claudio, but Joe has Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata stand by him. Shafir tries to attack Page from behind with the briefcase, but Page catches it and demands that Moxley accept the match. Moxley finally does.

Hangman Page goes to leave, but grabs a microphone and says he’s gonna prove he’ll do whatever it takes at All In and proceeds to hit Shafir with a Buckshot Lariat. The Death Riders flip out in the crowd but don’t have the guts to approach the ring.

AEW x Superman

A video plays featuring Timeless Toni Storm and Rachel Brosnahan, promoting the upcoming Superman movie later this month.

TBS Championship: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Mina Shirakawa

  • The finish of the match saw Mercedes Moné catch Mina Shirakawa with an inside cradle to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Still TBS Champion, Mercedes Moné

After the match, Mercedes attacks Mina, which brings Toni into the ring. Mercedes rolls out but comes back in with the TBS Title and strikes Toni from behind with it before throwing a drink on Luther and leaving.

Grade: A-

Yeah, this match ruled. I wish they hadn’t done the segment on Collision where Storm promised not to interfere because that gave away the finish. But the match was still great, I just wish that I was able to believe at any point that Toni could cost Mercedes the title there.

A joy ride for the Young Bucks

The Young Bucks reveal that they made Tony Khan pay for a limo to take them around town today and reminisce on where they grew up. Is it just me, or is this limo getting blown up tonight by someone?

4-Way for the #2 spot in the Men’s Casino Gauntlet: MJF (w/ The Hurt Syndicate) vs. Brody King vs. Anthony Bowens vs. AR Fox

  • The finish of the match saw MJF lock AR Fox into Salt of the Earth to win the match via submission.

Winner: MJF

After the match, Mark Briscoe comes out wearing a “MJF has a tiny pickle” t-shirt and hypes up the fact that he and MJF will be the first two entrants in the Casino Gauntlet match at All In. Afterward, JetSpeed hit the ring, but were overwhelmed by The Hurt Syndicate again. Kevin Knight challenges Shelton Benjamin to a match on Collision.

Grade: B+

Fun four-way, but another very predictable outcome. They could have put another person in there who would have had a legitimate chance of winning and wouldn’t have needed to be pinned. But that’s just me.

The Young Bucks return to the venue in the limo, their match is next…

Bandido, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong vs. Konosuke Takeshita and the Young Bucks

  • The finish of the match saw Konosuke Takeshita hit Kyle O’Reilly with Raging Fire to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Konosuke Takeshita and the Young Bucks

After the match, Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland attack the Young Bucks again and once again challenge them to a match at All In: Texas with the EVP titles on the line. Matt turns the match down because they don’t get anything out of it.

Ospreay says if they lose at All In, they won’t have a shot at the AEW World Title for a year. Strickland is furious. The Bucks say they accept those terms if Strickland agrees, and he eventually does. Swerve and Ospreay have words in the ring afterward.

Grade: A-

Really great trios match. AEW does these types of matches incredibly well. Lots of fast-paced action, and it was just a joy to watch. Again, the outcome was never in doubt, which has been an unfortunate theme of tonight’s show, but the match was still fantastic.

Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana) vs. The Beast Mortos and Dralistico

  • The finish of the match saw Swerve Strickland hit the House Call on Dralistico. Will Ospreay scores the pinfall victory for her team.

Winners: Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland

Grade: A-

Very fun tag team match. I’m not gonna say it again, but you know what I’m thinking. I will say I still wish Ospreay was in the main event over Hangman and that it would be Swerve and Page against the Bucks instead, but it is what it is.

Kota Ibushi vs. Kazuchika Okada (w/ Don Callis)

  • The finish of the match saw Kazuchika Okada hit Kota Ibushi with the Rainmaker to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Kazuchika Okada

Grade: A-

After the match, the Don Callis Family attacked Ibushi, which led to the return of Kenny Omega to save the day as AEW Dynamite goes off the air.

AEW Dynamite Review:

I really enjoyed tonight’s show. All of the matches delivered, and some real stakes were created for All In: Texas later this month. Had one or two matches been less predictable, this show could have easily gotten an A. But I gotta keep it real.

Grade: A-
