Swerve Strickland says the future looks incredible for AEW.
Speaking with Baby Huey on In The Kliq ahead of AEW Revolution, Swerve Strickland was asked what it would mean if Mercedes Moné and Kazuchika Okada potentially signed with AEW.
Both are heavily rumored to have signed with the company. AEW Big Business in Boston is being a likely debut for one, if not both. Strickland compared the situation to the NFL. He said if the rumors are fact, it just shows how they are building a dynasty in AEW.
“It’s like adding the top free agents to your NFL team. You can’t be upset about that, you can’t be mad. You got the best of the best of our generation. If the rumors are true and they are coming over and that is the choice and say the contracts have been signed, we’re building our true dynasty,” Strickland said. “AEW is now a dynasty, and we have the best prospects of the future in pro wrestling right now.
“I think one of the worst things you can do as a fanbase is talk about the now and really dwell on the now instead of truly investing in the future. And that’s what AEW is doing. That’s what I think we’re doing better all around 100%. Our future looks incredible,” He stated. “Revolution couldn’t come at a better time, the name of the pay-per-view. All these things are coming together at the right time. Don’t worry about the now, you need to be worried about the later because we’re about to hit hard and heavy in 2024.”
