Roman Reigns has come a long way since he started. The Samoan is arguably one of the best talkers on the WWE roster today. He’s also been their top champion for well over 1,500 days.
Reigns’ run in WWE thus far has seen him go up against some of the biggest names in the business. He was just two years into his main roster debut when he and the rest of The Shield were booked to go over Evolution in 2014.
Moreover, his feud with John Cena and Brock Lesnar helped him cement his status as one of the greatest superstars of the modern era. Having said that, here are Roman Reigns’ best feuds up to this point in his WWE career:
Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman made his WWE debut at the expense of Roman Reigns in 2014. The former Strongman competitor cost Reigns and Dean Ambrose their match against The Wyatt Family on the August 24, 2015 episode of RAW. Reigns and Strowman had an extremely stiff feud that saw the two men nearly kill each other on multiple occasions.
It is worth mentioning here that despite being a heel, Strowman had fan support in his feud with Reigns. Their matches against each other became the highlight of RAW in 2017, with Strowman getting the better of Reigns on most occasions.
Not only was Roman Reigns versus Braun Strowman the hottest feud for a year, but it also helped the ‘Monster of All Monsters’ cement his status as a future main eventer and world champion.
Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan was chosen to put over Roman Reigns in 2015. WWE, however, completely overlooked the nuclear fan reaction to Reigns’ push. The Big Dog won his Fastlane meeting with the American Dragon and got a title shot against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31.
Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan reignited their feud toward the end of Daniel Bryan’s career. They already had showcased their incredible chemistry in 2015. At WrestleMania 37, Reigns brutalized Edge and Bryan before sandbagging them on each other for the decisive pin.
John Cena
John Cena has been feuding with the Anoa’i family for 20 years. WWE’s franchise player has gone toe-to-toe with two generations of The Bloodline. He first squared off against Roman Reigns in a multi-man match in 2013.
It took WWE some time to put the two together in a singles match, which transpired at No Mercy 2017. The build to the match was completely one-sided as Cena decimated Reigns on the mic, but the match outcome favored the Big Dog.
They also feuded over the Universal Championship. Cena made his shocking return at Money in the Bank and set up a title match with Reigns at SummerSlam 2021. The Head of the Table would triumph once again, but not before getting his celebration interrupted by an old rival.
Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar was Roman Reigns’ first feud for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 2015. The pair had a terrific main event at WrestleMania 31 that reached a fitting conclusion with the “heist of the century.”
Reigns and Lesnar would feud on and off between 2015 and 2017 before completely focusing on each other in 2018. They main evented WrestleMania 34, Greatest Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam that year.
The feud reached a fantastic conclusion at SummerSlam 2022 in a Last Man Standing match. After a bout that saw Lesnar destroy the ring with his tractor, Roman Reigns buried the Beast beneath ring equipment and emerged as the Last Man Standing.
Jey Uso
The Bloodline’s storyline is arguably the best storyline to come out of WWE Creative’s pen in a long time. At the heart of the storyline is the feud between Roman Reigns and his cousin Jey Uso. This is the feud that made Jey “Main Event Jey Uso.”
The great thing about this rivalry is that it carried on and off for two years and never felt out of place. Reigns’ feud with his cousin turned him into The Tribal Chief. It showcased his incredible evolution from a power-hungry Samoan to the manipulative and egotistical Reigns fans know and love today.
Roman Reigns and Jey Uso battled on numerous occasions. Jey also handled his Tribal Chief cousin his first pinfall loss in over 1,000 days at Money in the Bank 2023. Unfortunately for Uso, he couldn’t finish the job at SummerSlam 2023.
Honorable Mentions
AJ Styles
AJ Styles’ WWE debut rocked the pro wrestling world in 2016. The Phenomenal One quickly found himself in a title program with Roman Reigns after WrestleMania 32. The paid main evented back-to-back pay-per-views against each other.
Reigns versus Styles was the first time WWE namedropped The Bloodline on television. So, you could blame the Phenomenal One for the mess he’s trying to clean from Friday Night SmackDown these days.
Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins was, at one point, tag team champion with Roman Reigns. Then he decided to take a shortcut by betraying his brothers in arms. Rollins’ heal turn completely took Reigns and Ambrose by surprise and they spent the next few years chasing his tail.
Rollins and Reigns had many matches against each other between 2014 and 2016. Their on-and-off feud reignited in the build to Royal Rumble 2022. At the showdown, the former Big Dog retained his Universal Championship against his former Shield brother in a controversial fashion.
