Wheeler Yuta has learned a thing or two being a Philly sports fan.
Yuta, the ROH Pure Champion, recently sat down with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard to discuss a variety of topics. During their conversation, Yuta shared whether his Philly sports fandom has affected him for better or for worse.
“Oh, man, this is a tough question. I think that it has taught me how to deal with pain, heartbreak, tragedy [but also] given me some of the best moments of my life as well. I think that being a Philly sports fan has kind of shown me you just have to go with the flow, you have to trust the process, no pun intended. But you have to sort of take what you can get. Hopefully things will work out well, but you know, seeing the Phillies do well this year has given me a lot of hope. Hopefully they’ll make it to the playoffs even with [Bryce] Harper out.
“Yeah, I think being a Philly sports fan has also given me some toughness and some grit because you go to those games and everyone’s—it’s like a pack of rabid animals—just so into it for our team. So it’s given me a lot of pride as well. It’s taught a lot of lessons about heartbreak and trials.”
