Ricochet defeated KUSHIDA in the finals of the New Japan Pro Wrestling Best of the Super Juniors tournament this weekend. BOSJ is one of the oldest and most prestigious wrestling tournaments still active around the world today. There have been 25 events in all since 1988, with former winners including Jushin "Thunder" Liger, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Tiger Mask IV, Prince Devitt, Kota Ibushi and many others.
For those that only follow WWE or TNA, at only 25-years-old Ricochet is one of the most notable up-and-coming wrestlers on the scene today, and has been featured prominently by several promotions in recent years, most notably Dragon Gate, but also in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Dragon Gate USA, and now New Japan Pro Wrestling. He competed in the 2013 Best of the Super Juniors tournament, winning 5 out of 8 of his round robin matches, but came short of the semi-finals.
