A new report published by Deadspin‘s David Bixenspan revealed WWE doctor Chris Amann had a past sexual relationship with former WWE star Jillian Hall.
According to documents filed in Amann’s recent lawsuit against CM Punk and Colt Cabana, Amann’s lawyers tried to seal documents that would bar the defense lawyers from bringing up Amann’s relationship with Hall during the trial. The motion remained unsealed, but documents publicly available at the Cook County Clerk’s Office show Amann’s team requested the motion.
Amann was the RAW brand’s main (and only) doctor during this period in time, and considering he was treating her during the time they were dating, it would be considered a code of ethics violation. Deadspin reached out to Hall who confirmed her name could be used for the article, and confirmed she was in a relationship with Amann while employed by WWE.
While Amann and his lawyers had not responded to a request for statement at the time of publication, two depositions did allude to the relationship between Amann and Hall. It was noted that Cliff Compton (friend of CM Punk and Colt Cabana) and Chaleen Rumpf (Punk’s sister) both testified to knowledge of the relationship. Another unnamed wrestler that was on the roster at the time in question stated neither party tried to hide the relationship.
The Deadspin article also referenced the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reporting Amann’s WWE contract expiring in October. When asked about the information presented in the court filings, WWE released a short statement saying:
“We were not aware of this. We are investigating the matter and will determine if any action is warranted.”
