On if he has ever dealt with racism in the professional wrestling business:

DX: Not necessarily. I feel that it kind of depends on how you carry yourself. If you carry yourself and you earn the respect of others they kind of throw color to the wayside. I have known individuals who happen to be racially angry towards a specific race, but they still have friends who are of that race, which, kind of confused me but it’s like they respect that man because they work alongside of them or helped them with something and because of that they see past that person’s color, even though they are still angry with others of that color. I think that is possible to happen in wrestling. I haven’t experienced it, but I tend to stay clear of locations that may carry that possibility because it’s not something I want to… I have encountered it before my time in wrestling like my time in the military and in my younger years. I try to limit my time or my opportunities to be around it to begin with.

On why he has been unsuccessful in winning the X-Division championship so far:

DX: I feel I have a lot of holes that need to be filled. I am still working on those. I kind of view myself as like a Ryu. I am not sure if you are into Street Fighter, but I am trying to travel the world and immerse myself in as many different styles to create a style that combines every single one. I feel I am still on that journey but once it is complete I feel I will be able to capture the X-Division championship.

On having to win multiple matches just to get to a number one contender’s match at Under Pressure:

DX: It’s something that I am used to. Going back to the Super X Cup I had to beat an opponent just to move on. It’s not something that is foreign to me. Now the type of opponent is what is different to me. Before it was guys with a similar style, so I am a little bit more used to that. This time I have Brian Cage which is totally different. I have to go into this with a different game plan. I may have throw caution to the wind to get the best out of that.
