WWE NXT Results (5/23): Lars Sullivan Battles Velveteen Dream and Ricochet in a Handicap Match, More

Earlier today. Dakota Kai says her NXT Women’s title match next week is everything she ever dreamed of. At the same time, she has to step in the ring with the biggest bully she has ever met in her life. Shayna Baszler walks in and berates Kai for not being able to speak while she is around. Baszler tells Kai she doesn’t have a chance. Kai looks up at Baszler and says we will see about that.

In Ring Segment: Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae

Gargano says the last time he was here it was for an NXT championship match. The bell never rang and he left on a stretcher. Gargano says when he struggles to get up in the morning his body reminds him of every bump and bruise he has gotten. Gargano has been doing this his whole life. Gargano sat down with his wife and he realizes it’s time to start thinking about his… there future. Gargano needs to ask himself if it is worth it. With the injuries adding up and the toll it’s taking on everyone is it worth it? The crowd chants yes. Gargano looks at his wife and says, “yeah, it’s worth it”. Gargano rips off his neck brace. LeRae pleads with Gargano to reconsider.

Gargano demands that Tommaso Ciampa come to the ring right now. Ciampa comes out and says if Gargano is still in the ring when he gets down there he is going to finish this. Before Ciampa gets to the ring a bunch of referees hit the ring to keep them separate. Gargano tries to get to Ciampa by going to the outside but LeRae is trying to drag Gargano up the ramp. Ciampa tells Gargano to be a good boy and listen to his wife. Gargano tries to run into the ring but Ciampa knocks him off the apron, into LeRae who goes face first into the metal ramp. Gargano screams for help as Ciampa escapes through the crowd.
