Glen Jacobs, aka Kane, is now the official Republican nominee for Knox County Mayor; his primary victory was confirmed after all of the provisional ballots for Tuesday’s election were counted.
Jacobs unofficially won the election Tuesday night by 17 votes, but still needed to wait for the provisional votes to be counted. Jacobs will now need to win the general election in August against Democrat Linda Haney to be elected Mayor of Knox County. Jacobs confirmed the victory on Twitter, and issued his first comments during a media appearance today after the ballots were counted:
