Backstage, Dasha congratulates Carmella on her title win. Dasha asks Carmella why today was the day. Carmella says the Queen overstayed her welcome. Carmella starts to cry. Carmella says there is one person she has to thank… herself. Carmella won the MITB contract on her own and she won the title tonight on her own. Dasha asks what about Royce and Kay. Carmella says who?
Backstage, AJ Styles runs into Renee Young. Young tries to tells Styles about Nakamura’s apology earlier but Styles cuts her off. Styles says he doesn’t want to hear it and if he sees Nakamura he may put his fist down his throat. Styles never thought he would be standing across the ring from Daniel Bryan. Bryan is great, but he isn’t phenomenal.
WWE Champion AJ Styles vs Daniel Bryan
Styles takes down Bryan. Bryan sprawls out of it. Styles grabs a side headlock. Bryan escapes and lands a few kicks to Styles. Bryan works over Styles’ arm. After a dropdown spot, Styles floor Bryan with a dropkick. Bryan falls to the outside. Styles hits a flying elbow over the top. After the break, Styles tries to suplex Bryan. Bryan counters with a knee to the head. Running clothesline by Bryan. Styles crawls to the corner. Bryan obliterates Styles with a dropkick in the corner. Yes kicks by Bryan. Styles catches Bryan’s leg and hits a sick dragon screw leg whip. Bryan is favoring his knee. Bryan does a backflip but clutches at his knee. Styles lands his backflip DDT off the ropes for a near fall. Styles kicks Bryan in the knee.
Styles misses a clothesline. Bryan hits a butterfly suplex into a cross arm breaker. Styles reverses it into the Calf Crusher. Bryan turns that into the Yes Lock. Styles escapes and hits the Pelé kick. Bryan hits the ropes and walks into a lariat by Styles. Styles tries the Phoenominal Forearm. Bryan counters with a kick to the gut. Bryan tries the Busuki knee. Styles reverse it into a Styles Clash attempt. Bryan rolls into the Yes Lock. Styles gets his foot on the ropes to break the hold. Bryan puts Styles in the tree of woe. Bryan kicks Styles over and over again. Bryan tries to back suplex Styles off the top. Styles shifts in midair and lands on Bryan’s head. Nakamura runs in from the crowd and hits a Kinshasa to the back of Bryan’s head, causing a DQ.
Winner- Daniel Bryan
After the match, Nakamura blast Styles with the Kinshasa. Nakamura low blows Styles twice before leaving the ring.
