Nia Jax Talks About Everything She’s Gone Through in WWE

Nia Jax recently spoke with IGN.com ahead of Wrestlemania 34; you can read a few highlights below:

Nia Jax on years of hard work culminating at Wrestlemania:

“First of all. I wasn’t aware that fans have been wanting me to face Alexa for a long time.”

“This is years of hard work finally paying off. The fact that she’s been my best friend for last four years on the roster adds to it because there’s a lot of stuff going on right now on an emotional level in the storyline. It’s taking a toll on me because I loved her, and I love her as a best friend, but now she’s betrayed me. Some of this is really happening. She’s actually really hurt me. Some of the stuff she’s saying is stuff that I’ve confided in her backstage or in the car.”

Nia comments on facing her real life best friend Alexa Bliss:

“Fans have seen us progress. They’ve seen us on social media or on Total Divas! and know that we were true best friends. And now there’s betrayal and pain and that makes it all the more relatable and real. Especially on social media because they connect to you and feel close. They are so invested because they’ve been able to track this. They’re watching it all crumble apart and they want to see where it’s going to go. Whether you love or hate Alexa or you love or hate me, you know the story is real.”

Nia Jax comments on WWE not being the easiest for athletes:

“I hate using this example, and I love her to death, but Eva Marie. She was an amazing soccer player and athlete but coming to WWE and getting in the ring was a whole different ballgame for her. It took a little bit to try to get in sync with what goes on here and I don’t think we ever saw the best of her in the ring.”

“It’s not the easiest transition. Just because you can do one does not mean you can to the other. People who’ve never played a sport in their life come to WWE and can kick butt. On the other hand, people who’ve played football or some other professional sport can come here and get in the ring and not do what we do. It’s a different tango. So because it’s a unique transition I am curious to see how Ronda does against Stephanie McMahon, in Stephanie’s first ever WrestleMania match. Which blows my mind because Stephanie McMahon is a pillar of this company and she’s never had a WrestleMania match.”
