Aleister Black is the new NXT Champion after he defeated Andrade Cien Almas at NXT Takeover: New Orleans.
Black overcame several run-ins from Zelina Vega to win the title, including the final one that saw Vega attempt to dive on Black from the top rope. The referee turned and caught her so she jumped towards Almas instead, and Black used the misstep to hit Black Mass for the win.
This is Black’s first title reign of any kind in WWE; Almas’ lone NXT Championship reign ends at 140 days after winning it at NXT Takeover War Games last November.
