Tonight’s episode of NXT was full of surprises, as NXT is getting a new championship, and a new roster member in EC3.
William Regal confirmed plans for the new NXT North American Championship on tonight’s show, and EC3 interrupted his announcement, thinking Regal created the title specifically for him. Regal dismissed his claims, saying he’s happy EC3 is here, but that’s not the case at all. Regal then made his final big announcement, saying EC3 will compete for the title, along with five other NXT competitors in a ladder match at NXT Takeover: New Orleans.
EC3 appeared on air during the NXT Takeover: Philadelphia special, but tonight’s show marked his NXT TV debut as ‘EC3’, and first appearance on an NXT program since he appeared as Derrick Bateman in 2013.
