Ric Flair Set For A Movie Role, Hulk Hogan’s Gawker Trial Optioned For Film/TV

WWE Hall of Famer ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair is set to make his feature film debut in “Uncle Steamroller & Champion Rabbit”. The news was broken this week by the Wrap who reported the film is based around pro wrestling with Flair playing a supporting role as a wrestling promoter.

“Uncle Steamroller & Champion Rabbit” follows a dejected Iraq war veteran who struggles to regain his pro heavyweight wrestling championship while being managed by a failed motivational speaker.

Flair is set to play the president of the World Wrestling Union, a Las Vegas syndicate that owns the wrestling tour on which the titular Uncle Steamroller attempts to stage his comeback.
Flair will also serve as an executive producer on the comedy drama which is currently in pre-production.

Hulk Hogan’s Gawker Trial Optioned For Film Or TV

The story of Hulk Hogan’s trial against the website Gawker is being optioned by Blackrock Productions for a potential adaption into a film or a  limited-run TV series. Deadline reported today that author Ryan Holuday’s   ‘Conspiracy – Peter ThielHulk Hogan, Gawker and the Anatomy of Intrigue’ is the specific source. Holiday’s book which covered the entire trial process was released last week and features interviews with all of the key players including Hogan.
