PWInsider.com is reporting that, based on sources they have spoken with, Samoa Joe will not be cleared in time to compete at the Royal Rumble this Sunday.
They also note that Joe had been scheduled to work with John Cena before his current injury so, “the timing is very unfortunate.”
Samoa Joe was on Booker T’s podcast this past weekend and said the same thing. Many fans speculated that he could be “working them” but this report seems to indicate that he was being genuine. Like Joe also said in his interview PWInsider.com is reporting that there is no timetable for his return.
