WWE Smackdown Results (9/12): Mr. McMahon Returns, 3 Big Championship Matches, Sin City Street Fight & More

In-Ring Segment

Ladies and gentlemen… Dolph Ziggler. The Showoff came out and talked about last week, when he showed off how stupid these elaborate entrances are by people who can’t even lace his boots. He blamed the crowd for associating stardom with entrances, so he’s given up trying to be different… Ziggler went to the back and Bayley’s music hit, as he came out with the full ensemble, including the arm-flailing tube men on the stage. The crowd cheered and he mocked them for it, asking them if they were finally having fun. Ziggler said that the sad reality is at some point the bell has to ring, and the “performer” has to actually be able to compete.

Dolph has one more entrance to do, and it’s for a “star” that couldn’t hold a candle to his athletic ability. He went to the back and Ultimate Warrior’s music hit, as Ziggler ran down to the ring with streamers and a mask, shaking the ropes. This is super uncomfortable because Dana Warrior is ringside for the Mae Young Classic. He got on the mic one last time and said that there is not a single wrestler in the world that can do the things that he can do, and each and every one of the fans couldn’t care less.

Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable vs. The Hype Bros

Mojo started the match by rolling around wildly on the floor. I guess it’s supposed to be “evasive” or whatever, but Chad Gable is having none of it. Gable immediately takes him down to the mat and tags in Benjamin, who goes to work with clubbing right hands and his signature dragon whip kick. Mojo powers off with a shoulder tackle and takes control, tagging in Zack Ryder to set up a flapjack combo. Shelton comes back with a spinebuster counting the Rough Ryder, then gets him in the powerbomb position to set up Gable for a springboard bulldog. 1…2…3.

Winners: Benjamin & Gable
