Backstage, Matt Sydal says Bobby Lashley is going to remember his name after tonight.
In Ring Segment: Bruce Prichard
Prichard is holding the GFW title. Prichard lets us know that he is a consultant for GFW. His job is to oversee the talent in GFW. Prichard thanks the fans for their patience with all the issues they have had over the past year. Prichard announces that Alberto El Patron has voluntarily surrendered the GFW Global title to focus on his family. Prichard says a company is only as good as its champion. Prichard says he has learned that he can order that the title is reverted to a former champion. Prichard announces that he is awarding the title back to Bobby Lashley. Lashley’s music hits but he never comes out. Jim Cornette walks out and joins Prichard in the ring. Cornette says he asked Lashley to hang back because he wanted to see Prichard’s face. Prichard says he doesn’t know why Cornette is out here. Cornette says he Anthem called him to help fix things in GFW.
Prichard says no one out ranks him and asks that security come to the ring to remove Cornette. Security comes to the ring. Prichard says Cornette isn’t and will never be his boss and he wants Cornette out of his ring. Cornette says Prichard is right, he isn’t Prichard’s boss. Cornette says people are sick of Prichard. Cornette says he isn’t Prichard’s boss because he is fired. Cornette orders security to get Prichard the hell out of his ring. Prichard says this isn’t the last Cornette is going to see of him. Cornette stops Prichard and rips the title off his should. Cornette tells Prichard to NOW get out of his ring. Cornette says corporate is sick of everyone trying to take advantage of them. As a point of clarification, El Patron did not relinquish the GFW Global title, he was stripped of the GFW Global title. No longer will big stars come here and get handed the world. Wrestlers are going to have to come here work for what they get. They will have to conduct themselves as champions in and out of the ring if they want to remain here. Cornette says next week there is going to be a 20 man gauntlet match. Cornette doesn’t care who wins. Whoever walks away with the title will have earned it. LAX’s music hits and the entire crew comes to the ring.
