In Ring Segment: Asuka
Asuka says that at NXT Takeover Brooklyn she will face Ember Moon. Asuka says she has beaten Ember before and she will beat her again. Ember Moon is NOT ready for Asuka. Ember Moon’s music hits and she walks to the ring. Moon grabs a mic and tells Asuka that ever since Takeover: Orlando she has done everything she can to get back where she belongs; fighting for the NXT Women’s Championship. Moon says she knows that she is ready, the people know she is ready, and Asuka knows she is ready. Deep down Asuka knows the truth. The truth is Asuka isn’t ready for Ember Moon. Moon drops the mic and gets in Asuka’s face. Asuka shakes her head and offers Moon a handshake. Moon goes to shake Asuka’s hand and Asuka pulls her hand away. Asuka slaps Moon so hard I felt it all the way in Boston. Moon stares at Asuka. You can see her anger meter filling to the top. Once it hits tilt, Moon punches Asuka square in the jaw. The champ hits the mat like a sake of bricks. Moon and Asuka trade shots. Asuka kicks Moon in the head, then tosses her semi limp body to the outside. Asuka picks up her belt and celebrates. Asuka turns around and Moon dives off the top rope and hits the eclipse! Asuka is out cold.
Backstage, Bobby Roode says that Rodrick Strong tried to play the Bobby Roode lottery and he lost. Not only did Roode beat Strong, he proved he is the better man. Strong doesn’t belong in Roode’s NXT. As far as Drew McIntyre goes, McIntyre claims to be a new man and maybe he is. Next week, McIntyre can get in the ring with Roode and have a conversation. Roode says he is done here. Before he can leave Strong runs in and tries to attack him, but security gets in the way. NXT Commissioner William Regal chastises Strong for his overly aggressive behavior. Strong asks Regal what he is supposed to do. Roode disrespected Strong’s family. Strong wants Roode (heh). Regal says his hands are tied. The match at Takeover: Brooklyn is set. Strong walks away in a huff.
