WWE Smackdown Results (7/18): Charlotte Flair vs Becky Lynch, Jinder Mahal Reveals the Punjabi Prison, Styles & Nakamura Team Up

[cont]

Corbin was stomping away on Styles when the show returned. They ran footage of Corbin countering a springboard forearm with a huge right hook during the break. Owens tagged in and went to work on the champion with viscous punches and kicks, but ran into a dropkick off the ropes. AJ made the hot tag to Nakamura who went crazy on the Canadian with strikes and kicks, giving him a little Good Vibrations in the corner. Owens tried to fight out of the flash manuever but got lit up with an enzuigiri for his trouble. The heels got control back when Corbin held the ropes down and sent Shinsuke flying over the ropes. They alternated quick tags and stomped a mudhole in him as the referee tried unsuccessfully to back them off. Byron Saxton mentioned that Nakamura wasn’t given the nickname “King of Strong Style” right as he gets locked in a bear hug – did anyone ever think that nickname was “cute” at any point?

Nakamura tried to rally back with a dropkick, but couldn’t make the hot tag as Styles got knocked off the apron. He went after Owens to return the favor but ran right into Deep Six from the big man. Corbin tried for the End of Days but Nakamura countered into an RVD-like step over kick. Finally Styles got the hot tag and cleaned house, chopping away at Owens with strikes and kicks. He connected with a facebuster but only got two. Styles failed to lift the former champion and got flatlined with a lariat, as Corbin tagged in to keep things rolling for the heels. He easily shook off a Calf Crusher attempt by throwing AJ clear across the ring, but got caught with a forearm. Styles set up for his finisher on the apron but Owens knocked him down leading to all four men brawling on the outside. Corbin threw Nakamura over the time keepers area and tossed AJ back into the ring looking for the End of Days. Owens made the save with a huge superkick and hit the pop-up powerbomb as the legal man to pick up the victory in a solid main event match. // Winners: Kevin Owens & Baron Corbin
