Welcome to Figure Friday! Today we take a look at the dancing machine No Way Jose from the Target Exclusive WWE NXT Elite series!
Looking at Jose in the packaging you can see the awesome packaging design. I really love the look of this on top of the color scheme as it just really stands out on the shelves or if you display your figures mint. Mattel did an awesome job making it an “X” shape, it’s very unique and fitting to the figures. Each superstar in the set has a graphic relating to them on the backdrop behind them in the box, too. On the sides it shows Jose, his name and the Elite logo followed by stats and a large image of him on the back. Also pictured on the back are the others in the set, which include: Austin Aries, Bayley and Seth Rollins.
Once you remove Jose from the packaging you can see it’s a pretty simple figure as he has a pretty plain look, but the amount of detail he has on top of his great head scan makes the figure that worthwhile in my opinion. His outrageous hair is a nice touch to even his crazy grin on his face. They captured his personality quite well. His shirt is a thin rubber, which makes it hard to pose him besides having his arms at his sides. The Fiesta logo is on the back as well as some molded button/trim designs on the front/sleeves. If you want to remove his shirt be very careful as it can be a bit challenging to remove, my only real complaint about this figure as I’m not a fan of the rubber clothing as of late from Mattel (it’s for their budget purposes). I recommend pulling his arms back as best you can and squeezing the shirt so it pops off on the sides a bit, then slowly pull the sleeves over each arm. If you’d like a cloth version for yours check out Ring Bling Customs on Facebook, they make great wrestling figure shirts that look factory made!
After the shirt is removed you can see the chest hair detail that’s partially covered by it. He has his white wristbands with “No Way!” on his right arm and “Jose” on his left arm. Not to mention the design on his left leg of his pants. Other than that as I said the figure is pretty simple.
He also has the Elite articulation so you can pose him really well. Not the most exciting figure but they did a great job not only capturing his look but his personality as well. I’m not sure we’ll see more figures of him anytime soon as his look doesn’t change a whole lot minus the colors of his designs from what I’ve noticed. I’d recommend picking him up if you’re a fan or just want to complete your NXT figure roster as I’m not sure we’ll get anymore figures of him anytime soon, but don’t quote me on that. We may see more at San Diego Comic Con next week for all I know. As mentioned earlier you can only get this figure at Target stores as it’s part of their new WWE NXT exclusive series.
