AJ Styles Announces the Return of the U.S. Open Challenge

Tonight’s WWE Smackdown Live kicked off with AJ Styles hitting the ring and announcing that he is bringing back the U.S. Open Challenge, and that the challenge begins on tonight’s show.

Styles then challenged anyone in the WWE locker room to face him for the U.S. title, and the challenge was accepted by the creator of the U.S. Open Challenge, John Cena.

Cena hit the ring and asked for clarification that the challenge applied to him, and Styles responded by saying it applies “especially” to Cena. A referee then hit the ring and John Cena vs Styles for The U.S. Title kicked off Smackdown Live. However, before the match could begin, former U.S. Champion Kevin Owens came out and said that nobody wants to see John Cena vs AJ Styles again. This lead to Cena challenging both Owens and Styles, but then Rusev hit the ring and attacked Cena. Styles and Owens got involved, and it lead to the announcement of the main event tonight, which will see Cena and Styles vs Owens and Rusev in a tag team match.

Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.

Nick attended New York University and graduated in 2001 with a degree in Drama.

Nick first entered the internet wrestling community back in 2004 when he became the co-host of The Voice of Wrestling Radio Show. From there, Nick made the transition from radio personality to editor when he began working with WrestleZone in 2008.

Nick is a member of two Off-Broadway theatre companies, Another Urban Riff, and the Drama Desk Award winning Godlight Theatre Company. Nick has appeared in over a dozen Off-Broadway plays since he moved to New York City, and has shot several short and feature length films. In 2010, he completed principle photography on a film titled "How to Score Your Life," which also features TNA Knockout ODB.

Inspiration in his life has come from many people including his family, Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, The Beatles, and of course, Lassie.
