Renee Young and Daniel Bryan are the hosts of this episode of tonight’s WWE Talking Smack. The first topic on the show is Ms. Money in the Bank, Carmella. The general manager is happy that Carmella won the right way this time. But he is confused about how people who get kicked out of the arena still get back in. He thinks WWE needs better security.
First Guest: Kevin Owens
The United States Champion interrupts the hosts as they were talking about John Cena’s return to Smackdown. He says he is not happy about the battle royal. Young interrupts Owens to say that the match will be taking place on next week’s Smackdown. Owens tells Young that interrupting people is rude.
Owens is not happy with the decision making by the general manager. Bryan asks Owens what he was talking about specifically. Of course he is talking about the battle royal. Bryan tells him that the fans have responded positively to the match. Owens also does not like that the winner gets to face him at Battleground. He asks the GM why everything is a battle. There is a battle royal and Battleground. Bryan tells him that it is better than Great Balls of Fire.
Back to Battleground, he adds that nobody cares what AJ Styles thinks either. He believes Styles is a classless individual who does not deserve the championship. He thinks that Styles is a loser. Bryan reminds everyone that Owens lost to Goldberg. Owens did not think that match was fair so that does not make him a loser.
Owens does not think Styles should be in the battle royal because he already lost his chance. Just like Chad Gable should not be in it. He says that Bryan is a father and he is teaching his daughter that it is ok to fail because daddy will give you another chance. To defend that, Bryan brings up the Seahawks. Owens decides to leave because he brought up sports and he no longer had interest in what he was saying.
Next, they talk about the Punjabi Prison match. Bryan explains what it is while a video is playing showing the bamboo cage. The GM respects the type of champion that Jinder Mahal is now. He could have chosen a match where the Singh Brother could have been involved. He can see that Mahal is trying to earn respect.
Second Guest: The Usos
The Usos say if the New Day wants a rap battle then they will give them one. They take a minute to do a little rap. Bryan tells them if they need backup then he is the one for them. Bryan even joined in to show he could rap.
The Usos think the only thing the New Day can offer is hip shacking and trombone playing. If they had to choose they would say either Xavier Woods or Kofi Kingston will be the best rapper.
Turning their attention to Battleground, the Usos do not care about New Day being the longest reigning tag team champions because when they get in the ring the record will not help them. And they could always grab their titles and leave if they needed to. Bryan tells him that he cannot support them in the rap battle if they plan on taking their titles and leaving every time the titles are on the line. He tells them the fans were disappointed at the ending of their match at Money in the Bank. Jimmy tells the GM if he is their third Uso during their rap battle then they won’t walk out of their next title match. Bryan tells them he will join them. The Usos are happy with that response and leaves.
Third Guest: Carmella
Before the hosts could finish talking about the tag team champs, Carmella interrupts them while laughing. She makes sure she speaks to the general manager. He does congratulate her on the win. Carmella wants Bryan to apologize to her for taking the briefcase and making her cry. He will not apologize to her but he does say he is proud of her.
Carmella believes the briefcase is back where it belongs. She knows that guarantees her a chance at the title. She gives the champion her props for being good but says Naomi is no Princess of Staten Island. Now, it is time for her to celebrate.
WWE Talking Smack ends with Young thanking the viewers and reminding them to tune in to next week’s Smackdown Live.
