Former Impact Wrestling Announcer Turns Down Return
This Sunday’s Impact Wrestling Slammiversary will be called by former ESPN SportsCenter anchor Robert Flores and Don West.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the duo will work together for this show only. Jeremy Borash and Josh Mathews are on the Slammiversary pay-per-view card and that is why they are not calling the action.
The Observer also reports that Mike Tenay was the first choice to call the show but he turned down the opportunity. Tenay worked for Impact from 2002 to 2015 with many of those years being the play-by-play announcer. He retired from the wrestling business last year. At this time it is unknown why Tenay turned down the opportunity to return.
Don West’s return to the commentary table could lead to him staying this Impact Wrestling.
