WWE Smackdown Live Results (4/4): Naomi Defends, Major Superstars Debut, Orton vs Wyatt Continues!

Backstage Segment:

We go backstage where The Miz and Maryse are making fun of John Cena’s WrestleMania proposal to Nikki Bella. Maryse says they should be thanking her, because they backed up Cena into a corner so far that he had no choice but to propose. The Miz brings up the Superstar Shakeup happening on Raw next week, and because it might be the last chance to make this happen, he says that they are calling out Cena and Nikki tonight, and it will be the last time the WWE Universe sees John Cena on Smackdown Live for a very, very long time.

– It will be Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan taking on Randy Orton and Luke Harper in tonight’s main event.

WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship Match
Naomi (c) vs. Alexa Bliss

Bliss goes right after the champion and takes control early, as commentary argues over whether or not her match at WrestleMania 33 was fair. Naomi gets the upper hand and hits the Rear View on the outside of the ring as we cut to a commercial break. Bliss is back in control when we come back, and it’s shown that she went after the previously injured knee that put the champion on the shelf. She continues to pick apart her target for several minutes as the crowd is actually getting really into this match. And not with snarky comments either, they’re actually chanting for Naomi and booing Bliss, and clapping the champion back into the fight (as well as doing the “two…sweet” chant for near-falls). She finally gets back into the match and hits the Rear View, but her knee buckles and she can’t take advantage. They fight up to the top rope and Bliss sweeps her to the floor, tries to roll her up, but Naomi reverses it into a headscissors crucifix choke and gets the submission in a really good match.
