WWE Smackdown Live
Tonight’s WWE Smackdown Live will feature a ladder match between James Ellsworth and AJ Styles with a Smackdown contract and a WWE World Championship title shot on the line.
The show started with Shane McMahon recapping Smackdown big win at Survivor Series, then Dean Ambrose and James Ellsworth came down to the ring. Shane gave Ambrose the next off, but then offered Ellsworth a full WWE Smackdown Live contract. AJ Styles came out and took exception to this, saying Ellsworth doesn’t deserve a contract. Shane said it was happening, but AJ said if Ellsworth wanted a contract he should have to fight him for it.
Shane told Ellsworth that he already earned his deal, but Ellsworth said he would take the match with a full-time contract, as well as a future title opportunity on the line if he won.
