Kevin Owens successfully defended and retained his WWE Universal Championship against Seth Rollins on RAW tonight, although he did get an assist from ‘best friend’ Chris Jericho.
The match carried a stipulation that Roman Reigns and Jericho were banned from ringside; the conclusion of the match saw a ‘fan’ wearing a Sin Cara mask push Rollins off of the ringside barricade. Rollins attacked him and pulled the mask off, revealing it was Jericho all along. Jericho then jumped off the barricade at Rollins, but ended up taking a kick to the stomach and a Pedigree for his troubles. Owens then superkicked Rollins and powerbombed him on the ring apron before rolling him in the ring and making the cover.
