Dean Ambrose was unsuccessful in his bid to become #1 contender to AJ Styles’ WWE World Championship after James Ellsworth inadvertently cost him the match.
Ambrose ended up losing the match against Styles tonight by disqualification; the final moments saw Ambrose send Styles outside after avoiding a Styles Clash, and Ellsworth got fired up after being threatened by Styles earlier. Ellsworth superkicked him on the floor, but Ambrose realized what had happened, and the referee signaled for the bell. Ellsworth was at ringside because he offered to be in Ambrose’s corner after all Ambrose had done for him in the past few weeks, after Ambrose initially refused the offer.
