Billy Corgan says that because Lashley attacked Edwards he is no longer getting an automatic title rematch. Lashley will face whoever wins tonight’s main event.
Grand Championship Match: Aron Rex (C) vs Jessie Godderz
Round One
Godderz takes down Rex with a leg trip. Rex gets back to his feet. Godderz double legs Rex. Rex retreats to the corner. Rex takes Godderz down with a side headlock. Rex forces Godderz into the corner. Rex miffs on a right hand and gets rolled up in a schoolboy for a two count. Rex grabs a hammerlock, but Godderz reverses it into a top wrist lock. Godderz and Rex trade arm drags before the bell rings.
Round one is awarded to Jessie Godderz
Round Two
Rex takes Godderz over with a small package. Godderz kicks out. Godderz locks in a head lock. Rex reverses it, but Godderz turns the reversal into a small package of his own. Godderz double legs Rex once again and attempts to lock in a Boston Crab, but Rex kicks him away. Rex double legs Godderz and attempts to lock in the sharpshooter, but Godderz kicks him away. Godderz takes Rex down and locks in the Crab, but Rex gets to the ropes. Godderz puts Rex in an armbar/shoulder lock combo. Rex manages to slither out of that and lock in an armbar of his own.
