Luke Harper made a surprise return at WWE No Mercy tonight during the main event between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt, costing “The Viper” his match.
Harper has been on the injured list since March, after suffering a dislocated patella and torn medial patellofemoral ligament. Because he was not a member of the active roster in July, he was neither drafted to the Raw or Smackdown Live brand. After being cleared to return to in-ring work, Harper wrestled on a Raw-brand house show earlier this month, leading many to believe that with the recent injury of Erick Rowan and the move of Braun Strowman to Monday nights, the Wyatt Family was officially disbanded.
On a related note, this was Bray Wyatt’s first pay-per-view win in a singles match since WWE Battleground in July 2015.
