Cody Rhodes Announces HOG Opponent
Former WWE star Cody Rhodes will be making his debuting appearance for the NY-based House of Glory promotion this October, and has officially announced his opponent for the event. Rhodes will be facing current IWGP Intercontinental Champion Michael Elgin at the show, appropriately titled House of Glory: Unbreakable, on October 21st.
Finn Balor Praises the “Heart” of NXT
As noted, Finn Balor worked what may be his last NXT show at this weekend’s event in Texas. Going forward he is now a full-time member of the RAW roster, and will face Seth Rollins at next month’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view to determine the first ever WWE Universal Champion.
Balor sent some love to NXT head trainer Matt Bloom, who many backstage consider to be the heart and soul of the hybrid developmental promotion. After retiring from in-ring competition in late 2014 Bloom became a trainer with NXT, and after the controversial release of Bill DeMott, he was promoted to the lead position in March 2015. Since taking over the promotion he has publicly received nothing but praise, and several of the major names called up to the main roster have credited him with their success.
