Former WWE Head Writer Ed Ferrara’s Full WWE Battleground Preview: Title Matches, Blood Feuds, Faction Warefare, More

On what is being promoted by WWE as a final confrontation between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens:

EF: It’s the final chapter until the next time they need a hot feud and they want to light a fire on this one again. As far as this one goes I think either one of these guys could benefit from going over. People just want to see the two of these guys beat the hell out of each other. They could go forever. This is like Flair and Funk. Flair and Rhodes. This is one of those feuds that we are going to keep coming back to time and time again. We are going to see times that now that the two of them are on RAW together they will probably be forced to team up in certain circumstances down the line. I think that there is a lot that you can play with the animosity between the two of them. Who goes over? I don’t know. I think either one goes over. It might be the last one. If they want it to not be the last one then just give it an inconclusive finish because there’s no stipulation to this. They could easily do an inconclusive finish and then say, “Oh! It’s not the last one!” That’s never been done in wrestling before.

On the chances that Roman Reigns aligns himself with Stephanie and Mick Foley and turns heel to take the WWE Championship:

EF: I would love to see them do something daring and creative and news worthy like that. I’ve just gotten so down on their booking that I don’t expect them to do that. I don’t expect them to do something that’s going to make it more interesting. I just expect them to do what’s going to be the safest choice for them. That keeps everybody as it is and keeps selling t-shirts.
