Former WWE Head Writer Ed Ferrara’s Full WWE Battleground Preview: Title Matches, Blood Feuds, Faction Warefare, More

On The New Day taking on The Wyatt Family:

EF: They are keeping The New Day together. They’re splitting up The Wyatts. They are sending Braun Strowman to RAW. Bray and Erik Rowan to Smackdown. It would make little sense putting The Wyatts over if you want to keep The New Day strong. That said, because it’s not for the Championships then they could put The Wyatts over to give Bray a little bit of steam going in to Smackdown. Which is the way I personally would do it because I think, again, Bray is one of those guys that they have just abused. He needs to show that he can get the job done. I would put The Wyatts over here because it doesn’t matter that the Championships aren’t on the line. If the Championships were on the line I would say you’ve got to go with The New Day. They’re staying in tact. They’re going to RAW and The Wyatts are splitting up. It would make little sense to put the Championships on The Wyatts. Then again if it was for the Championships… and I’m thinking of this while I am saying it… you could easily put the belts on The Wyatts and then have Bray and Rowan carry those belts over to Smackdown.

On Enzo & Cass teaming with John Cena to take on The Club:

EF: I think you could go with kind of a “safe” outcome for most of the matches here. I think this would be another one where they could do an inconclusive finish. I’m not saying that they should do inconclusive finishes for all of these. This could be where Styles could get his 1-2-3 over Cena, finally. Or over Cena’s team. You could do this one where Enzo or Cass look strong. You could make Cass look really strong and get the pinfall on maybe Anderson in this. Nothing against Anderson. Because these teams are splitting up and because the issue is going to be or potentially be continuing Cena and Styles. Then launching Enzo & Cass vs The Club as a program over on RAW. As long as you come out of this with heat you’ve got places to go on either show moving forward. This is one of those matches where the outcome is not really going change anybody’s career.
