Mike Shaw
Mike Shaw, better known as Bastion Booger, was one of the more memorable performers in professional wrestling. His unkempt look and strange appearance made him a great crowd entertainer, and he carried on in that manner till the rest of his career. After his retirement, he appeared a couple of times on TV in character, but he passed away in 2010, following a heart attack. He was a truly unique character.
Owen Hart
The Hart family is probably one of the best known wrestling families today. The father of the family was a wrestling legend, Stu Hart, while the most famous ones today are the brothers Owen and Bret. Owen Hart, although not as big of a star as his brother, was a beloved character by many fans and other wrestlers alike. He was a great athlete and would often perform under a name “The Blue Blazer.” He is sadly remembered as one of the wrestlers who died onstage, when his lowering mechanism failed and he fell 78 feet. It was a real tragedy witnessed by many.
Eddie Guerrero
Eddie was one of the most beloved and renowned professional wrestlers of the modern era. Though he often played the villain, the crowed loved his wrestling style that was uninhibited, raw and focused purely on the win. Guerrero was found unconscious in his hotel room by his cousin, also a wrestler Chavo. He tried to perform the CPR, but it was in vain. His death affected many people who would often call him the greatest wrestler ever.
Scott Bigelow
“Bam Bam” Bigelow was another beloved villain who would often perform in his fire-patterned costume. This “Beast of the East” was many time a champion wrestling mostly in WWF, ECW and WCW. What made people admire him even more is the fact that in 2000 he rescued 3 children from a burning building getting second degree burns on 40% of his body. This real life hero left us five years later due to cocaine and medications overdose.
Chris Benoit
Finally, there’s the story of Chris Benoit. A famous wrestler, he performed in all of the major wrestling promotions like WWE, WCW, NJPW, etc. He is considered by many as one of the greatest athletes in the field, though what remains most memorable about him is his strange end. In 2007, Benoit, out of the blue, killed his wife and son, and consequently hanged himself. Some believe that the numerous head traumas resulted in his violent and nearly inexplicable behavior. In any case, it is a sad end for this promising professional wrestler.
