WWE taped the second round of the Cruiserweight Classic this Thursday at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida and we now have a complete SPOILER-filled look at the third round, which will be taped next month.
(1) Akira Tozawa vs. Gran Metalik
(2) Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Noam Dar
and…
(3) Brian Kendrick vs. Kota Ibushi
(4) TJ Perkins vs. Rich Swann
Kota Ibushi and Zack Sabre Jr. are the two front-runners and odds-on favorites to win the tournament currently. Rich Swann has also been getting a lot of praise recently, although many expect him to go the way of Cedric Alexander, eliminated from the tournament but ultimately offered an NXT contract based on performance, interesting and the crowd reactions to him in this tournament.
WWE does have a team of backups in place if any of the competitors are injured or “fail to make weight”, although whether or not WWE intends to actually stick to their weight restrictions as a shoot is anybody’s guess. Likely not.
