The following highlights are from tonight’s WWE Off The Top Rope segment with Jonathan Coachman on ESPN SportsCenter. You can read some transcribed highlights, as well as watch video from Ambrose’s appearance below:
Jonathan Coachman welcomes Dean Ambrose to the show, and Coach talks about his Wrestlemania 32 opponent, Brock Lesnar making headlines this week. Ambrose says he was the only guy to step up and fight Brock, and people tried talking him out of the match, but he felt disrespected that Brock assumed he was scared. Dean talks about making Brock feel pain, and he survived that night and every other fight with Brock, and he would fight him in a Denny’s parking lot if given another chance.
Coach brings up Brock’s UFC return, and asks about Brock being able to switch between UFC and WWE. Ambrose says you have time to rest between fights, but if Brock gets clipped with the right punch by Mark Hunt he’s going down, and he should watch out.
Coach then transitions to talk about Ambrose’s spot in Money In The Bank, and Ambrose talks about how dangerous the match is. He calls it a big opportunity if you win, but guys take huge risks to try and win, and he hopes this one goes right for him this time around. Ambrose says once you are in the match, you have to ignore all fears, and just climb the ladder. Coach asks if Ambrose is comfortable in a ladder match, and Ambrose says he’s like a kitten in your lap, and he is very comfortable and just lives in the moment. He says you won’t have these opportunities all of the time and you need to take advantage.
Coach brings up Ambrose’s history in NXT, and asks about opportunities presented to current NXT talents compared to his time there. Ambrose says it has changed so much and now WWE basically has a third brand to enjoy, and the fans just love it, and it’s a big opportunity for those wrestlers to build a fan base before they get to RAW or Smackdown.
