According to Jeremy Botter of FloCombat, CM Punk’s first UFC fight looks like it will be taking place at UFC 202 on August 20th in Las Vegas.
As we previously noted, UFC is currently working on a documentary special profiling Mickey Gall, who is expected to be Punk’s first opponent, and the release of the special would coincide for an August 20th fight at UFC 202.

If the fight does indeed take place at UFC 202, it will join a card headlined by Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz 2, but Botter was “careful” to note he hopes he didn’t ruin any announcements. This is of course a mild shot at UFC for throwing MMA journalist Ariel Helwani out of UFC 199 last night and banning him from the promotion for life after Helwani reported the news of Brock Lesnar fighting at UFC 200 and McGregor vs Diaz 2 before UFC made the official announcements:
Oh. And CM Punk vs. Mickey Gall is targeted for August 20. Same night as Diaz/McGregor. Hope I didn’t ruin any announcements.
