The Latest Backstage News on a Possible Kota Ibushi WWE Signing
As seen at WWE NXT Takeover Dallas, top Japanese free agent Kota Ibushi (pictured above) was shown seated ringside for the event, which lead to speculation that he might be signing with WWE in the future.
Ibushi recently told Tokyo Sports that he had no contract talks with WWE while he was in Dallas, however Dave Melzter noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE would never have shown him on camera if they weren’t confident he would be signing. Additionally, potential WWE signees are told to downplay to the media any talks they might have with WWE.
Japanese reporter Enuhito is reporting that Ibushi will work for the IGF promotion in Japan later this year, and he’s apparently doing so to study owner and WWE Hall of Famer Antonio Inoki.
