About “Headlocked”:
“Headlocked” is the story of a Mike Hartmann, a college theater major that unexpectedly falls in love with professional wrestling as a performance art…so much so, that he drops out of school to pursue this dream. The story is one-half an examination of the craft of wrestling through the eyes of a performance artist and one-half coming-of-age story as Hartmann must navigate the seedy underbelly of a business that hasn’t evolved much since it’s carnival days.
The art in the book is done mostly by wrestlers…with the covers done by WWE Hall of Famer, Jerry “The King” Lawler and current interior artist, Michel Mulipola (a Samoan wrestler from New Zealand that wrestles as the masked Liger).
