Lucha Underground Exec Responds to Report About the Company’s Future
Last night Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer reported that Lucha Underground, after two seasons, has lost slightly less than half of what TNA lost after 10 years in business. The report added that the company would have to raise more capital and/or sign more deals for a fourth season of the show to take place.
Lucha Underground producer Eric Van Wagenen has posted the following on Twitter, responding to Meltzer’s report:
The rumors of @LuchaElRey‘s demise have been greatly exaggerated. Perhaps check with a real source instead of the same old disgruntled one?

The network gives us a seasonal production budget and we produce the show for exactly that, not a penny more.Thats how TV works @LuchaElRey

Global Force Wrestling Lands First TV Deal
Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling appears to have landed its first TV deal, as New Zealand state broadcaster TVNZ is launching a new channel called DUKE that will be geared at a male audience. The DUKE website recently released a ‘launch promo’ which includes footage from GFW’s “Amped” series.
A fan on Twitter then reached out to DUKE for confirmation that AMPED will indeed be airing on channel, and the following exchange took place:
@GrayMatterNZ you are correct!
