On whether it’s a given that Roman Reigns walks out of the Fastlane main event the winner and faces Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 32:
JL: I don’t think it’s a given. I think it’s a given that Brock Lesnar does not win. Like I said on CSR, it’s odd since it’s the first situation we’ve had since he returned from UFC where you’re kind of like, “There’s just no chance of him winning.” I think The Wyatts are still out there and he’s got to finish that business. I don’t think it’s a given that it’s Roman Reigns. That’s maybe the safer choice right now but I think that’s because as they get closer they can call audibles. Whether it’s Ambrose and Reigns somehow being involved in the main event or whether they go with Ambrose. It’s definitely not a favorable situation for Roman Reigns going in to Cleveland where Brock Lesnar is Brock Lesnar. Dean Ambrose definitely gets more genuine support from both the casual and die hard fan. They can try to stack the odds against Roman Reigns even more with having to contend with Brock Lesnar if Dean Ambrose does break the brotherhood and just goes heel. He’s a fantastic heel so if they really want to break the brotherhood, like they’ve started to plant seeds with, they could maybe add more heroic-ness for Reigns and more obstacles to overcome. You always have to worry about people. Are they going to accept it? Or, are you going to run in to the same situation you had last year with Mania?
JI: I think it’s not a given slightly because I look at WWE and I look at WrestleMania and plans that WrestleMania matches have had before. You look back at WrestleMania 24 after that Royal Rumble where John Cena came back from injury. It looked like it was going to be John Cena vs Randy Orton. Everyone was groaning going, “Oh, not again! John Cena vs Randy Orton!” It wasn’t the 100th time they’d face each other like it was a couple of years ago at TLC. It was still repetitive so they added Triple H for a little bit of flavor. I think it’s possible they can do that. We saw a triple threat match with the Daniel Bryan situation. That was different circumstances. I wouldn’t be surprised but I do think the odds on favorite is Reigns vs Triple H. Especially since I think Dean Ambrose needs something for himself at WrestleMania. Seth Rollins had that WrestleMania moment. Roman Reigns has had his big moment last year and potentially this year. I think it’s time for Ambrose, albeit in an Intercontinental Championship Match against an AJ Styles or someone like that. He needs that one big moment away from everybody else where he can shine on the grand stage. A triple threat match could be good for Ambrose but I am not sure if his star will shine brighter there or potentially lower like with AJ Styles.
