As noted, former CMLL star La Sombra, now known in NXT as Manny Andrade, made his NXT debut last week in a match against Riddick Moss.
According to The Wrestling Observer, there has been a much different backstage reaction to Andrade in WWE than there was when the original Sin Cara, who also came over from CMLL, made his debut in the company. Many wrestlers texted Andrade congratulations when he signed with WWE, and are genuinely hoping that he finds success in the company. This was something that really didn’t happen with Sin Cara. Furthermore, Andrade is much more well liked in WWE than Sin Cara, and if he does succeed in the company than that might open the door to WWE bringing in more Mexican talents who are good in the ring.
Another differing factor between La Sombra and Sin Cara is that Sombra is said to be working very hard on his English, which Cara never did.
